Most active stocks

I can’t quite figure out the ordering on the ‘most active’ stocks. In general it appears that the most active stocks are on page one of the list, and less active stocks are on later pages. But on page one, the stocks don’t appear to be ordered from most active to least active, which is the order which seems to make most sense. In a related point, it looks like the “Who will win the Democratic Primary in the Massachusetts Fifth Congressional District Special Election?” (http://home.inklingmarkets.com/market/show/4974) market is the most active of the current markets, but because it is 5th on the list I wonder if items 1 through 4 are actually more active by some measure (number of traders rather than number of trades?). Anyway, just wondering if you can clear up what the ordering is on the page. Thanks. |

thanks you’re right, there’s a bug. right now we show “trades” as an activity indicator in that market list, but the active market sort order is by traders. thats why the sorts doesn’t look quite right. i’ll stick it in the queue to get fixed. |

Actually, I don’t want anything “fixed” so much as I just want to understand. In fact, since the order indicates the rank by number of traders and the activity indicator reported is number of trades, the current set up actually reveals a little bit more information than the likely fix. Thanks for the clarification. |

I’d like to be able to see what’s getting traded most actively this week, or this month. The way the list is now is interesting, but with a lot of long running markets around, it’s not always very… current. |

I like zakarria’s idea, and even though he will use it somehow to remain ahead of me on the top traders list, it is probably worth exploring. How about a “Top Markets” page – this could just be the front page for the “Active Markets” – but the “Top Markets” page would list the top ten “This Week” and “All Time Greats” in a manner similar to the Top Traders list. I’d recommend ordering by number of trades, not number of traders. Number of shares outstanding (long + short) might be another measure. Some traders like to be where the action is, so help them find the action. |

Yeah, I totally agree. We’ll get something different in there soon. |
